Career entry support

This programme seeked to get young people into vocational training. The aims of the individual programme steps were to help individuals:

  • earn a school-leaving qualification
  • improve career orientation and choice of career
  • enter a vocational training relationship that remains stable for the duration of training

The career started mentors provide the young persons with continuous, individual support from school through to the vocational training stage. Measures commenced in the penultimate year of general education schools and continued for up to six months into the vocational training. If the individual did not manage to successfully transition from school to vocational training, coaching was provided in the transitional field for up to 24 months.
