Programme to reduce long-term unemployment

This programme aimed to integrate long-term unemployed persons at the margins of the labour market, and claiming benefits under Book II of the Social Code, into the general labour market on a lasting basis.

This was to be achieved by:

  • Specifically recruiting companies for the programme, i.e. special teams in the job centres recruit employers for the programme and provide advice and guidance when hiring individuals in the target group
  • Intensive coaching and mentoring of workers once they have taken up employment
  • Providing financial compensation to the employer for the reduced output of the individual worker
