Future of work

The "Future of work" programme addressed the structural changes resulting from automation and increasing globalization in the working world and the challenges that employers and employees have to meet. The program especially targeted SMEs. Within projects, new concepts and models were developed in close collaboration of research, enterprises and social partners, and tested in pilot applications.

The topics were:

  • Implementing human ressource management, organizational and skills development measures to boost innovative capacity
  • professional development and knowledge transfer at the workplace in the context of demographic change, leveraging experiences and lessons learned, creation of workplaces that encourage learning
  • preventive health measures to maintain creativity and innovative capacity
  • professional development aligned with phases in the worker's life, work-life balance

"Future of work" was the follow-up programme to the "Working-learning-developing skills; innovative capacity in a modern working world" programme from the 2007-2013 ESF programming period.
