Employment Service of Slovenia

Employment Service of Slovenia (ESS) is one of the key Slovenian labour market institutions. It is an independent legal entity with public institute status operating uniformly across the entire country. Main ESS activities inter alia include: job placement, job matching, life-long career guidance, implementation of Active Employment Policy measures. Users of ESS activities are: unemployed persons, employers, jobseekers, pupils and students in need for professional guidance in the fields of employment and career, social partners, etc. As a national coordinator for EURES, we facilitate mobility of workers.

In this frame we are a partner in the consortium of project operators for three centralized EU mobility projects:
- “Your first EURES job (YFEj)”, an EU job mobility scheme which aims to help young Europeans to find a job in another Member State.
- We also joined the RE-activate Intra-EU mobility scheme for unemployed 35+.
- EURADRIA, EURES - Cross-border partnership and support to cooperation on intra-EU mobility for social partners and EEA countries.

The National Mobility Scheme is being implemented as a directly approved operation in accordance with rules of the European Cohesion Policy in the 2014-2020 Period. Effectively this means, that it is being carried out by the Employment Service of Slovenia as a project operator, which is also acting as a direct beneficiary of the European Social Fund. Regional or national call is not required in our case.
The National TLN Mobility Scheme was launched in 2017 and it is expected to run until the end of 2022 without interruptions. Currently we are operating as a sending organization only, however it is expected that we will start with hosting in the near future.

"The Employment Service of Slovenia has decided to join the TLN Mobility, because it is the only framework in the EU, which actively supports mobility of unemployed disadvantaged young people - target group of NEET’s (Not in Education, Employment or Training) to which we pay special attention."
