ESF programme of the Federal Government: Career entry support
This programme seeks to get young people into vocational training. The aims of the individual programme steps are to help individuals:
- earn a school-leaving qualification
- improve career orientation and choice of career
- enter a vocational training relationship that remains stable for the duration of training
The career start mentors provide the young persons with continuous, individual support from school through to the vocational training stage. Measures commence in the penultimate year of general education schools and continue for up to six months into the vocational training. If the individual does not manage to successfully transition from school to vocational training, coaching is provided in the transitional field for up to 24 months.
